「CHRISTIAN DADA（クリスチャン・ダダ）」2013年春夏コレクションがインスタレーション形式で発表された。氷中に身を隠す輝く衣服たち。テーマは「SUBSTANCE」。感覚が面白すぎる。アートのようなインスタレーション。1枚の紙には「本質は一見して気付かないものなのかもしれない」と記入されていた。確かに一見気付きにくく、透き通る氷が何かも分からなく思えた。氷が溶けたときどんな表情を見せるのか。実際に袖を通したらどんなシルエットでどんなアティチュードをしているのか。会場同スペースではこのためだけにスペシャル結成を果たしたVampilliaのLIVE SETが行われた。
トレンド、動物性革、刺繍レース、撥水素材、毛素材。
これらの素材でできた服を氷の中に閉じ込め、溶けていく様、解凍した後の素材の変化を発表題材にしたインスタレーション。
Christian Dada Designer Masanori Morikawa presented his Spring/Summer 2013 collection as part of Japan Fashion Week yesterday. Entitled ‘SUBSTANCE’, Floor-to-ceiling blocks of ice encased the collection in an Art-like installation. Dada introduced the element of understated drama that has helped earn the brand a large following in a relatively short period of time. The fact that the clothes themselves were difficult to examine in their frozen blocks may in fact suggest style over ‘SUBSTANCE’ – yet I think that’s far from the truth. Morikawa seems to understand the importance of establishing an image for a brand which is still very young. The ambience was further set by a live performance by Vampilla during the exhibition. It’s refreshing to see clothes presented in a way different to a traditional runway show and we look forward to seeing the images from the look book which will be released soon.
