世界中で愛され続ける「COCA-COLA（コカコーラ）」が、ブランド誕生125周年を記念して「BEAMS（ビームス）」とのコラボレーションでヨーヨーやアートブックをリリースした2011年。なんと2回目（コラボレーション）となる今回は、NIGO®がデザイナーを勤める 「HUMAN MADE（ヒューマンメイド）」とのトリプルコラボレーション「COCA-COLA x HUMAN MADE x BEAMS」が実現。BEAMS原宿店で行われた昨夜（2月22日）のお披露目では、コカコーラの缶で作成したピクセルアートの展示に、NIGO®氏の貴重なアーカイブコレクションが展示されていた。上の階ではエクスクルーシブDJにNIGO®氏、KAN TAKAGI氏らを迎えて来場者をおもてなし。
NIGO®のフィルターを通してアメリカンビンテージウェアを現代的に解釈する「HUMAN MADE」としては、今やビンテージとしても評されるほど歴史ある「Coca-Cola」のアーカイバルなユニフィームやノベルティラインをブラッシュアップさせることは、最も得意とするところ。中でも、「Coca-Cola」のセールスマンたちのユニフォームとして有名なヘリンボーンとストライプを組み合わせたテキスタイルは1910年代頃のものを再現するために、日本を代表するメーカー「WAREHOUSE」によって同時代に作られていた技法を限りなくちかい形で制作し、ビンテージウェアのテキスタイルを忠実に復刻。このテキスタイルを用いて「HUMAN MADE」は単なるユニフォームの復刻ではなく、様々な時代のテイストを取り入れた”当時あったかもしれない雰囲気”を現代のファッションとして再構築し、全く新しいコレクションを提案。

Last night Beams Harajuku hosted a party to celebrate the launch of their collaboration with NIGO. The Coca-Cola x Human Made capsule collection sees vintage coca-cola workwear recreated in modern fabrics and puts vuntage graphics on fresh white T’s. NIGO is an avid collector of Coca-cola memorabilia and only had to go as far as his own collection to get inspiration for the line. last night he was joined by Kan Takagi on the decks to play old school rock tracks as guests enjoyed Lemson’s hot dogs with cola.
