陶芸家・料理研究家として知られるアーティスト、カズコ・ロッシュ（Casuko Roche）のクローゼットには山本寛斎（Kansai Yamamoto）のヴィンテージがズラリ。1970年代に日本人として初めてロンドンでファッションショーを開催したあの山本寛斎の衣装が。山本寛斎といえば、デヴィッド・ボウイ本人からの依頼でステージ衣装なども手がけていたことで話題に。彼のヴィンテージを身に纏った娘のジュリ・ロッシュ、そんな彼女は「Real Paradis」という名で2010年に歌手デビューを果たしている。
A decade before Japanese designers became known for their dark vision of deconstructionism, one designer brought color and spontaneity to the runways of Paris, the stage costumes of David Bowie and the consciousness of a multitude of designers that his work still inspires to this day. That designer is Kansai Yamamoto. Singer and model Julie Roche (Real Paradis) wears vintage 1970’s Kansai Yamamoto from her mother Casuko’s collection.
