Aoyama has a grotesque new visitor in the shape of ‘RICKZILLA‘, a specially commissioned effigy of designer Rick Owens. It was meant to go on display earlier in ’11 but was deemed a little too dark after the Natural disasters in March, so a quieter unveiling was held at the store last Friday, Owen’s 50th Birthday. Striking in it’s realistic depiction of the mutated designer, the figure will be available to view until November 27th during the Rick Owens Aoyama store opening hours of 12.00 – 20.00. Photographer Nick Knight has created a video of the figure of the statue which is also being shown instore.
