先日ケイトモスが出演したイギリスのBBCテレビ番組 “British Style Genius”に、ウエストウッド、ガリアーノとマックイーンらが登場。紹介されたのは、懐かしいマックイーンの1999年春夏コレクション＆2001年春夏コレクション映像だ。5年以上も前のコレクションだがあまり時代を感じさせないのはなぜだ？2008年のこの今、同じショーが行われても違和感ない気がする。個性あふれるデザインと手の込んだ芸術的な作品、幻想的なショーの演出で毎回話題をさらうアレキサンダー・マックイーン（Alexander McQueen）。
We watched another episode of the BBC TV show “British Style Genius” the other night, this one was about style rebels, Westwood, Galliano and McQueen. It brought back to our attention some of the amazing shows McQueen has done in the past. These two videos are from S/S 2001 and S/S 1999 (watch from 0.37 seconds). Alexander McQueen is so unique and inspirational in his artistry, he sets the bar high for others to follow in creating shows beyond the typical catwalk. It makes the shows look timeless.
