デザイン、建築、ジャーナリズム、評論、美術館のキュレーター、ジョナサン・アンダーソンが主催を務める2018年度の「ロエベ クラフト プライズ」ウィナーが発表された。
The LOEWE FOUNDATION has announced the winner of the LOEWE Craft Prize 2018. For the 2018 edition, a panel of 11 experts convened in Madrid for two days to review all presented works and select the shortlist. In their deliberations, the panel sought to identify the most outstanding works in terms of technical accomplishment, innovation and artistic vision.
2017年度の「ロエベ クラフト プライズ」のウィナーであるエルンスト・ガンペールを含む名高い審査員達による2018年度の芸術作品たち。受賞者には、伝統的なつまみと巻きの技術が使ったスコットランド人のセラミスト、ジェニファー・リーの「Pale, shadweb speckled traces, fading elipse, bronze specks, tilted shelf(2017)』 が選ばれ 、日本の陶芸家・桑田卓郎の「Tea Bowl」とテキスタイルアーティストのシモーヌ・フェルパン（フランス）が特別賞を受賞。
‘Pale, Shadowed Speckled Traces, Fading Ellipse, Bronze Specks, Tilted Shelf’ (2017) by Jennifer Lee was chosen as the winning entry. Japanese potter Takuro Kuwata was given a special award for his work Tea Bowl (2017). The jury admired the energy and self-expression of his work, saying: ‘He transgresses the typical tradition of ceramics while pointing a new way forward.’
ロンドンのクラフト・ウィーク・プログラムの一環として、優勝者、特別賞を受賞した桑田卓郎ほか、ファイナリストに選出した30人の作品（セラミック、ジュエリー、テキスタイル、ウッドワーク、グラス、メタルワーク、家具、ペーペークラフト、ラッカー）が展示される。
