17歳と24歳の青年の、生涯忘れられない恋の痛みと喜びを描いた本作、男女、世代を問わず、たとえ今は忘れてしまっていても、誰もが胸の中にある柔らかな場所を思い出すような傑作。
1983年の夏、北イタリアの避暑地で家族と夏を過ごす17歳のエリオは、大学教授の父が招いた24歳の大学院生オリヴァーと出会う。彼は大学教授の父の助手で、街を散策したり、泳いだりと、一緒に暮らしていくうちに激しい恋に落ちていく。主人公のエリオは、本作が初主演となるティモシー・シャラメ。相手役オリヴァーには「コードネーム（U.N.C.L.E.）」のアーミー・ハマー。弱冠22歳でアカデミー賞主演男優賞にノミネート、受賞すれば史上最年少受賞となり、主演男優賞の最年少記録の更新となる。

One of last years most beautiful films is finally getting released in Japan. ‘Call Me by Your Name,’ directed by Luca Guadagnino was written for the screen by James Ivory who just became the oldest Oscar winner ever, winning the award for ‘Best Adapted Screenplay’ for his take on André Aciman’s 2007 novel. It tells the coming-of-age story of 17-year-old Elio and his relationship with a graduate student visiting his family home for the Summer. The story unfolds in Italy in the 1980’s and is full of the warm fuzziness such a setting evokes.
