5月14日ベネチアのエクセルシオール ホテル（Excelsior Hotel）付近でシャネル（CHANEL）の09/10年クルーズ・コレクション（Cruise Collection）が発表された。ショーが行われた海岸は、シャネルの創業者が1930年代によく訪れていた思い出の場所とか。また、国際的に活躍する女優の菊池凛子（Rinko Kikuchi）も会場にいた。船員のようなルックは、1971年に制作されたイタリアとフランスの合作映画「ベニスに死す」からインスピレーションを得たそうだ。ムッシュー ラガーフェルドは、”Coco on the Lido”と言っていた。

Chanel’s Pre-Fall and Cruise collections always have strong themes and the 2009/2010 Cruise Collection in Venice a few days ago was no different. Taking place at sunset on the beach of the Excelsior Hotel at The Lido the collection exuded a 1930’s era glamour worthy of another era. Internationally renowned Japanese actress Kikuchi Rinko was present at the show which took inspiration from the 1971 Italian movie “Death in Venice”. Monsieur Lagerfeld was quoted as stating this was “Coco on the Lido”.
