カール・ラガーフェルド（Karl Lagerfeld）が手掛けるシャネル（CHANEL）の”PARIS-SHANGHAI” というコレクションが、12月3日上海のとある場所で行われた。また、それと同時に、ココ・シャネル（COCO CHANEL）が夢の中で上海旅行に行くという設定で、イメージビデオまでもが制作されている。もちろん、ディレクションを担当したのはカールおじ様で、俳優陣には普段からCHANELのショーやキャンペーンなどで活躍するモデルたちが。日本からはスーパーモデルの岡本多緒（TAO OKAMOTO）が。このコレクションは、メティエダール（Metiers D’art）といって2002年に始まったプロジェクトなのだ。危機を救うためのコレクションとでも言おう。”手”作業で芸術品を作り上げる特別なコレクションということだ。上海をイメージしたコレクションがとても伝わってくる。さすがのカールおじ様。
東京ではつい先日、CHANEL GINZAの5周年を記念したイベントが行われたばかりだ。
Amazing costumes and questionable acting can describe this film that was played before the showing of the CHANEL pre-fall 2010 collection that took place in Shanghai last week. Lagerfeld has proclaimed his love for silent movies in the past and hearing models act out dialogue is enough to make anyone agree. The collection itself was of course beautiful. Coco Chanel herself never had the chance to visit China but was a collector of Chinese art. Lagerfeld fused Chinese influences with the classic look of Chanel in the show which took place on a barge on Shanghai’s Huangpu river. The after-party was held in the peninsula hotel where CHANEL was opening a new store. It’s a shame Karl couldn’t make it for the party to celebrate the 5th Anniversary in the Tokyo Ginza store the following evening!
