Anyone who has been to the Standard Hotel in New York will have been spell bound by the video art installed in the elevators. ‘Evolution (Megaplex)’ is the work of artist Marco Brambilla. I came across his name again recently when looking at a list of Sci-fi movies and was surprised to see he was the director of the 1993 movie Demolition Man. It’s an unlikely beginning for the video artist, but he retains links with pop culture, he also created the mini-video ‘POWER’ for Kanye West (below). I was really happy to find the full version of ‘Civilization’ online, enjoy the video above.
