美意識の高いメンズへ向けたファッション誌「commons&sense man 」の新号が今月の27日に発売されると同時に、もっとも気になる表紙フォトが。そう、表紙に起用された人物とは「永遠の天才デザイナー」アレキサンダー・マックイーン（Alexander McQueen）だった。2月に眠りについてしまったマックイーンを思い、commons&senseエディターたちは彼の違うアングルルックを表紙に飾ったのだ。写真左が2009年の秋冬号で、写真右が今月の27日に発売される新号表紙だ。こういったかたちでファッション誌の表紙に同一人物を同じかたちで登場させるのは初めてではないだろうか。なんだか、目には見えないとてもソフトな気持ちが心にしみる。
With Alexander McQueen’s passing this year, his beaming smile on the the cover of the A/W issue of Commons&Sense MAN magazine (above left) gained great poignancy. After Lee’s tragic passing in February the magazine’s editor has made the decision to put him back on the cover as a tribute for S/S 2010 (top right – onsale March 27th). I think it’s really brave for a magazine to put the same person on the cover of a magazine for two issues in a row and for me it cements Commons&Sense as a high fashion magazine that really cares not just about fashion, but the fashion community.
