昨夜（2012年3月15日）東京・銀座で開催された「ギンザコマツ」のローンチパーティ。東館に出店した「UNIQLO GINZA」と西館に出店した「DOVER STREET MARKET GINZA COMME des GARÇONS（ドーバーストリートマーケット ギンザ・コム デ ギャルソン）」同ストアとも沢山の招待客を迎えお披露目が開催されたのだ。会場にはUNDERCOVERデザイナー、高橋盾氏やルイ・ヴィトン メンズ・クリエイティブ・ディレクター、キム・ジョーンズ（Kim Jones）の姿が。さらに、「DSMG Comme des Garçons」のディレクションを勤めた川久保玲氏の姿までもが。さすがの銀座だけに、幅広い年齢層の方たちが訪れていたと同時に、なんだか活気づいていましたね。ジュンヤワタナベ、トム・ブラウン、コムデギャルソン、ルイ・ヴィトン、リック・オウエンス、アレキサンダー・マックイーン、アダム・キメル、アレキサンダー・ワン、シュプリーム、アンダーカバーなどが揃っていた1階から6階まで豊富な品揃えに対し、ユニクロではアンダーカバー（UU）とユニクロのコラボレーションで賑わっていましたね。最上階では、ファーストリディング代表取締役会長兼社長、柳井正（Tadashi Yanai）氏との撮影会が行われていたり。世界を規模に人の育成や取組みについて。なんかのインタビューでも同じ様な記事を目にしたことが。そんな柳井氏との撮影に成功したダン・ベイリー（こちら）。
A camera shy Kawakubo Rei stood by the entrance and greeted guests to the opening of Dover Street Market in Ginza last night. 6 floors of CDG collaborations shares space with pop-up shops from leading fashion houses including Louis Vuitton Menswear, BAPE, Givenchy, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen and SUPREME. The only thing missing was music – turns out Kawakubo-san isn’t a fan of blaring music in stores and wanted the opening to have more of an exhibition opening feel. This was bolstered by the fact nothing was on sale during the event, so VIPs wanting to get their hands on the CDG x BAPE T-shirts or CDG x Supreme hoodies had to head back down to the store today to get their hands on the goods. The party was dominated by serious looking Japanese in black drop crotch pants, a very different scene to the music, color and sushi at the UNDERCOVER x UNIQLO launch next door. UNIQLO’s flagship store is in the East Wing of the Komatsu building, Dover Street Market takes up the West Wing. We have photos from UNIQLO on our instagram (tokyo_dandy). A great night for Japanese fashion, two very different but hugely influential brands and a top new shopping destination in Tokyo.
