これまでマックイーンやガレスのフィルムを手掛けてきたフィルム・ディレクターのルース・ホグベン（Ruth Hogben）が、ガレス・ピュー（Gareth Pugh）の2011年秋冬プレフィルムを制作。毎回驚かせてくれる彼の作品には誰もが心奪われているのでは。真っ黒の背景に奇妙なモデルの動き。そして、忘れてはならない、ガレスのアーティスティックな衣装。変わらずダークは演出に、クラバー好みのサウンド。個人的に映画館でこういった映像を見てみたい。さらに、終盤真っ白の背景に揺れ動くモデルたちに注目を。
You’d be forgiven for thinking ‘Just another black and white fashion film’ for the first minute of Ruth Hogben film for Gareth Pugh. With a sound-track that’s equal parts sinister and dramatic you get a ‘seen this before’ kind of feeling. But give it a chance, it really starts to get interesting from the 1.20 mark, filmed from below the subjects gather before the emergence of more color and sound. The silhouettes framed by the black background and strong movements of the models. I think it’s the shame most of us are watching these films on small computer screens I’m sure they’re beautiful in HD and on bigger screens.
