フラフープを回しながら1曲丸々を歌いきってしまう歌手＿「グレイス・ジョーンズ」。1970年代から活躍している彼女は、アンディー・ウォーホルやジャン＝ポール・グードのお気に入りのミューズの1人。そんな彼女の初となる回覧録「I’ll Never Write My Memoirs」が、9月に出版される。
80年代のグレイスは、「私は、自分の回覧録なんて絶対に書かないわ」と81年にリリースされたアルバム「NIGHTCLUBBING」収録「Art Groupie」のシングル曲で述べていた。あれから34年が経った今、彼女は決断した。また、BBSフィルムが25周年を記念してグレイス・ジョーンズのドキュメンタリー「The Musical Of My Life」制作に取り掛かっていることを発表した。
“I wrote a song called ‘Art Groupie’. First line said ‘I’ll never write my memoirs’ — that was a long time ago. Grace Jones on her decision to release her memoirs this September. The news comes after ealrier this year the BBC picked up the first ever Grace jones Documentary ‘Grace Jones – The Musical Of My Life’, a project which ahs been in the works for 7 years. As huge Grace fans this is the best news and could only be made better by a show in Japan, Grace would be our chosen addition to the Fuji Rock line-up this year she’d kill it.
