パリ公演（2013年11月）が決定した「初音ミク」主演ボーカロイド・オペラ「THE END」が、5月23日より2日間限定で渋谷Bunkamuraにて開催される。この作品は、人間不在のオペラ、つまり従来のオペラの中心となるオペラ歌手やオーケストラなどは一切登場せず、初音ミクとボーカロイドによるアリアやレチタティーボ、コンピューターによる音響、映像によって物語が展開。音楽家・アーティストの渋谷慶一郎と、演出家・演劇作家の岡田利規、映像作家のYKBX他、時代の先端を担う気鋭のアーティストによるコラボレーション作品として誕生した新作オペラ。衣装は、「ルイ・ヴィトン」アーティスティック・ディレクター、マーク・ジェイコブスが手がけたチェック模様のドレスに身を包んだ「初音ミク」。詳しくコチラ！

Hatsune Miku is a very Japanese phenomenon, a singing synthesizer application with a humanoid persona, a virtual idol for a whole generation of otaku. Whilst Hatsune Miku has ‘performed’ in several animated concerts, a series of shows taking place put her in the big leagues. ‘The End’ scripted by Toshiki Okada with music by Keiichiro Shibuya will be the world’s first Vocaloid Opera. Taking place at Shibuya’s Bumkamura on May 23rd & 24th followed performances later this year at the Theatre du Chatelet Opera House in Paris on November 13th and 15th. None other than Louis Vuitton’s Artistic Director Marc Jacobs has designed Miku’s costumes for the shows which will feature Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2013 checkerboard patterns (above).
