世界的アーティスト・村上隆初監督映画「めめめのくらげ – Jellyfish Eyes」予告編が遂に公開された。2013年4月26日よりTOHOシネマズ六本木ヒルズほか全国にて公開。「めめめのくらげ」は、村上隆が10年以上前からフルCGアニメーション作品として温めていたオリジナルアニメ企画をベースに、実写映像とCGを駆使して制作中の初監督作品。

主人公の小学生、正志（まさし）は、引っ越してきた新しい家に、見慣れない段ボールを見つけた。中から出てきたのはくらげの様な不思議な生き物。どこか愛くるしいその生き物を“くらげ坊”と名付け、次第に仲良くなっていく。リュックにくらげ坊を連れて転校先の学校に行くと、他の生徒も、大人には見えない不思議な生物＝“ふれんど”を連れていた。いったい誰が何のために。そしてふれんどとは何なのか―。

震災後の日本を舞台に、主人公の少年と、くらげのような「くらげ坊」、そしてたくさんの不思議な生き物たちが織りなすSFファンタジー。子どものエネルギーから生み出されるとされるまだ誰も見たことが無いような生き物たちが、この冬のワンフェスにやってくる。
2月10日に開催される「ワンダーフェスティバル2013 （冬）」への出展も決定しているほか、今作の監督補である西村喜廣、脚本の継田淳、CG制作の前川英章、そして監督の村上隆交えたトークショーが開催される。

The super-flat world of Takashi Murakami will be brought to the big screen in Japan this April with his first feature length movie. ‘Jellyfish Eyes’ is ‘Set after a devastating earthquake has struck Japan, Jellyfish Eyes “follows a young boy who … has to move with his family to an ‘experimental city’ where each child is paired with a small monster. The ‘angry feeling’ of the children then gives these creatures great power, allowing them to grow from cuddly little companions to giant, omnivorous behemoths that tower over buildings and, in one especially gorgeous scene, tromp majestically through a misty forest. Havoc ensues.’
Jellyfish Eyes will be released April 26th in Japan with International release dates to be announced soon.
