妻の一押しで「ノルウェイの森」というタイトルが生まれた小説家、村上春樹による「ノルウェイの森」がこの秋に公開を予定している。実は、この映画には一人の新人女優が出演しているのだ。ん？誰かって？そう、モデルの水原希子 （Kiko Mizuhara）。彼女は若干19歳という若さでファッション誌や、PVなどにも出演する他、ガールズコレクションなどで活躍している。そう、他のモデルの子とは一味違った雰囲気の持ち主。そんな彼女の初演技がこの秋に。ちなみに下記映像は、「CHER」の15周年記念のために制作されたショートフィルムで、少し前からCHERのカタログなどでも活躍しているモデルの希子が、フォトグラファーで映画監督の蜷川実花（Mika Ninagawa）の世界観に包まれ登場。ガールズには溜まらないラブリーでカラフルなディレクションになっている。
Model KIKO MIZUHARA stars in this stylistic short film that celebrates the 15th Anniversary of Japanese brand ‘CHER’. It’s a prelude to the popular model’s movie debut this year which will be in ‘Norwegian Wood’, the first time one of Japanese author Haruki Murakami’s novels have been brought to the big screen. It is destined to be huge. Kiko take’s on the role of ‘Midori’, an outgoing and charismatic classmate of the book’s main character ‘Toru’, who is played by Kenichi Matsuyama. Rinko Kikuchi of ‘babel’ fame plays the down beat and troubled ‘Naoko’. The film is directed by Anh Hung Tran with a musical score from Radiohead guitarist Johnny Greenwood. ‘Norwegian Wood’ isn’t released until December 2010 but a few stills have leaked (above). Expect big things from this film – and from Kiko in the future.
