ネクストステップとしてバーバリーやヴェルサーチの後任が既に噂されているキム・ジョーンズ（ルイ・ヴィトンの後任が誰になるのかも気になるところ）。2011年から7年にわたってメンズ・コレクション・アーティスティック・ディレクターを務めたキム。昨年発表されたシュープリーム（SUPREME）とのコラボレーションは、ストリートとメゾンの歴史に名を刻んだベストコラボレーションともいえるだろう。シュープリームのほかに、チャップマン・ブラザーズ、クリストファー・ネメスといったアートの世界を取り入れた偉大なる恊働もそのシーズンの話題に。そして、発表されたばかりのフィナーレではナオミ・キャンベルとケイト・モスの登場ということもあり、スタンディングオベーションと拍手喝采で会場は興奮に包まれていた。新しいスタートと明るい未来への第一歩を。心からおめでとうキム。
Kim Jones bowed out as Artistic Director at Louis Vuitton Menswear with a grand finale in Paris yesterday. The show capped 7 years at the famed house for Jones who not only invigorated the brand as a whole, marrying his love of fashion withe covetable product. 2017’s LV x Supreme collaboration wrote the history books on the relationship between streetwear and luxury fashion and capped a tenure which also saw collaborations with The Chapman Brothers and the estate of Christopher Nemeth. Kim took his final walk on the runway hand-in-hand with living legends Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell – wandering off into a new start and a bright future. Congratulations Kim x
