2004年からコレクションを発表したオーストラリア出身のファッション・デザイナー、キリリー・ジョンストン（Kirrily Johnston）。とても気さくでフレンドリーな彼女のステイするホテルに招待されたTOKYODANDY TEAMは、彼女の部屋で新作のアイテムを一足先に見させていただいた。通常彼女のショーはシドニーで行われているが、ANZFWからの招待でデザイナー数名を集めた”Little Black Dress”に参加。”Little Black Dress“とは、各デザイナーがブラックをテーマにデザインした3ルックをショー形式で紹介していくのだ。（詳しくは後ほど。）ファッション・エディターからも人気の高い彼女は、メルボルン・テキスタイル・インスティチュート（The Melbourne Institute of Textiles）で学び、現在はシドニーをベースにデザイン活動に励む彼女。東京のオシャレ キッズか好みそうなテイスト。click HERE.
Another definite favorite for us is the A/W 2010 collection from Australian designer Kirrily Johnston. Johnston was in Auckland to take part in the Diet-Coke ‘Little Black Dress’ show and we were lucky to be able to check out her newest collection ‘Cave Dweller’ at her hotel room at the Westin. Tight where it should be, draping when it needs to be, Johnston’s vision is the perfect uniform for anyone traipsing down Omotesando towards Aoyama. Shiny and Matte sequins are used together to great effect, and the largely black and earthy colored clothes can be worn/fastened in a variety of ways. Meeting Sydney-based Kirrily was a pleasure too, we feel fortunate to have been able to meet a designer who obviously understands how people want to dress right now.
