新型コロナウイルスによる閉館となったアミューズメントパークや美術館に続いて、4月18日から開催を予定していた「KYOTOGRAPHIE 京都国際写真祭2020」が、コロナウイルス感染症の世界的な拡大に伴い、2020年9月に時期に延期することを発表した。
2020年で8回目を迎えるKYOTOGRAPHIE 一環の「KG＋」では、私自身（ダン）初となる参加をとても楽しみにしていたが、これ以上感染者が拡大しないよう、日本国民全ての人々がオリンピックに備えて接触を避けなければならない状態でもある。とにかく今はプロジェクト自体がキャンセルではなく、延期という前向きな決断に感謝している。
困難な時期である旅行会社、予約していた宿泊施設の予約をキャセルし9月18日〜10月18日までのまる一ヶ月を再度予約しなおし今からとても楽しみにしています。
Amongst the cancellations and postponements in the effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Kyotogrpahie 2020, the globally renowned photo festival, has been postponed from April until September. I was due to participate with a DISPOSABLES exhibition as part of the KG+ satellite event and now look forward to sharing my work later in the year. This must have been a difficult decision for staff to make, and I’m so thankful they have been able to fix new dates so that it has been postponed and not canceled indefinitely – that must have been an incredible amount of work.
Our thoughts are with those in the travel industry for whom this is a really difficult time. We’ve already rebooked our accommodation and are looking forward to spending time in Kyoto throughout Kyotogrpahie, now taking place September 18th – October 18th 2020.
