2002年に誕生した「ルイ・ヴィトン 表参道」のリニューアルオープンを記念して、4月3日「江戸の花見」をコンセプトにお披露目パーティーが開催された。ルイ・ヴィトンのロゴがプリントされた提灯や花見シーズンに合わせたピンクのライティング。イベントのプロデュースを手掛けたのは写真家/映画監督としてもご存知、蜷川実花。入口正面には、世界中を飛び回るプラントハンターの西畠清順による桜の演出が。そして、今最も注目を集める歌舞伎俳優の尾上松也が獅子の毛振りを披露。会場では、お祝いに駆けつけた著名人やルイ・ヴィトン ファミリー、着物姿＆忍者姿のスタッフ陣と、とても華々しい空間になった。
We’re usually ones for drunken cherry blossom parties outside in parks, so the reopening of the refurbished Louis Vuitton Store on Omotesando was a luxury hanami experience not to be missed. Landscape Designer and ‘plant hunter’ Seijun Nishihata curated the beautiful interior where guests sipped champagne handed out by kimono clad waiters as ninjas sprinkled petals from above. The highlight of the evening came in a fantastic performance by kabuki star Matsuya Onoe. Alas, photos of the performance were prohibited, but in the era of instagram driven reception parties this added to the beauty of the moment and ephemeral spirit of the season.
