Malamute’s Spring/Summer 2019 show at Amazon Fashion Week was one of a number of contemporary women’s wear brands showing throughout the week. A traditional runway set up made great use of the limited space available in Hiakrie’s B Hall venue which can often feel cramped, putting viewers in close proximity to the models and clothes. Highlights came when designer Mari Odaka’s pedigree as a knitwear designer was expressed through hybrids of fabrics and textures.
