イタリア発のデニムブランドとして知られるメルティン・ポット（Meltin’ Pot）が、「Style Me Up」と名付けた新たなプロジェクトを出動。東京ではあまり知られていないが、イタリアンボーイズからは人気を得ているよう。そう … 各国から選ばれたクリエイターが、それぞれのかたちで「Meltin’ Pot」のデニムを使用し撮影を行うという企画だ。そんな企画に参加させて頂いたわたしたちTOKYODANDY TEAMは、行きつけの場所ともいえるTRUMP HOUSEで撮影を行った。モデルには、DJのみならずスタイリストとして活躍するハードメルヘン、「PELI」と、俳優としても活躍する「SHINGO」を起用。他のクリエイターには、スタイリストとして活躍するロビー・スペンサー（Robbie Spencer）に、「KateLovesMe」で知られるファッションブロガーのペライオ・ディアス・ザピーコ（Pelayo Diaz Zapico）、The Denim Guy、The Dandy Project、Denimology、M.I.Y Me by Mayte、Hotel Ginger and The Urban Gentlemenらといったラインナップ。
Italian denim brand Meltin’ Pot recently kicked off a global campaign of collaborations with leading websites and bloggers and Tokyo Dandy was honored to launch the venture. ‘Style me up’ is based around the Meltin’ Pot ethos of blending cultures to create new ones, something we see everyday in Japanese Street Fashion. We shot Shingo and Peli (as well as Joe) in the leopard print backdrop of Trump House as a metaphor for the urban jungle of Tokyo. Our style points centered around finding the right fit of denim and denim as a uniform through which your unique style can show either dressed up or dressed down. The collaboration has seen the photos appear in magazines and store windows across Europe as well as on multiple blogs, it was really fun to work on and we’re looking forward to seeing what the other collaborators come up with during the year, there’s a stellar line-up… Robbie-Spencer – Kate Loves Me – The Denim Guy – The Dandy Project – Denimology – M.I.Y Me by Mayte – Hotel Ginger and The Urban Gentlemen.
