「スキニー ジーンズ」が、ここ数年の間でメンズコレクションの定番アイテムとなってる。先日行われた、パリ・ミラノ09秋冬コレクションでもスーパースキニーが登場したくらいだ。そして、更にレギンスがあちこちで出回ってるではないか。前シーズンでは、ショートパンツにレギンスを重ねたスタイリングが目立っていたが、今シーズンではプリントや、色、素材感、カッティングなどが目立つ。そう、先日マーク・ジェイコブスもスプラウスのレギンスを着用し、パーティーに出席していた。
面白いことに、スキニージーンズをはくモデルたちが、レギンスをはいてもあまりパッとしない。なぜなら、タイトすぎるからだ。その逆も勿論言える。太ってはいないが、体格の良いモデルがスキニーをはいてもパッとしないはずだ。今回のパリ・ミラノ コレクションを見ればわかるだろう。要するに、エディ・スリマン（Hedi Slimane）が選ぶモデルたちには、レンギンスはタイトすぎるが、スキニーパンツは彼らの定番アイテムということだ。
“Skinny Jeans” have been a staple for boys for the past few seasons, and now things are getting tighter. Super skinny pants and leggings were all over the F/W 2010 runways of Milan and Paris. Skinny jeans can be worn on the skinniest of legs but you need a bit of muscle to look good in what designers have shown over the past week as the cut is completely different. Looking at the models used on the runways, the skinny boys brought to the fore-front of fashion by Hedi Slimane when he was at Dior Homme are finally filling out for a more lean muscular look. The skinny look is still prominent here in Japan where boys tend to be thinner anyway, so it will be interesting to see how long it takes for these trends to filter through. One things for sure, the shorts over leggings for men which is a popular look for S/S09 was first popular on the streets of Tokyo about a year or more ago.
