1965年イギリス生まれ、セントマーチンズ卒、ロイヤル・カレッジ・オブ・アートで修士号を取得したニール・バレット氏。グッチ（GUCCI）のメンズ・シニアデザイナー、プラダ（PRADA）のメンズディレクター、サムソナイト・アクティブウェア（SAMSONITE ACTIVE WEAR）のデザイナー、プーマとのコラボレート「96アワーズ・バイ・ニールバレット・フォー・プーマ（96 HOURS by Neil barrett for PUMA）」といった経歴。更に、2007年秋より、三陽商会と契約を結び世界初のセカンドライン「ブラックバレット・バイ・ニールバレット（Blackbarrett by Neil Barrett）」を発表。そして、またまた更に2008-2009 A/W より、PMD JAPAN 株式会社（PMD JAPAN LTD.）が日本国内での輸入販売権を取得。2008年8月、東京・青山に新たに旗艦店をオープン予定だとか。

Neil Barrett was born in the United Kingdom in 1965 and graduted from the Royal College of Art with a Master’s Degree. After working as Senior Men’s designer at Gucci and director of men’s clothing at Prada, NB set up his own label in 1998. The razor sharp cuts and simplicty of his designs won over fans including Hidetoshi Nakata, Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom. This forged the way for NB to work on collaborations with Samsonite Active wear and “96 HOURS” with PUMA. In August 2007 NB launched his second line “Black By Neil Barret” in Japan with Sanyo Shokai. It’s rumoured that in Summer 2008 Neil Barret will move from current partner company Sann Freres and open a new flagship store in Aoyama with PMD JAPAN LTD. With this news, and the fact that the designer is a familiar face at Fuji Rock, it’s pretty certain NB will be in Japan soon. It would be fun if he had another party in Le Baron!
