Yesterday we dropped by the NIKE STADIUM, Tokyo’s Nike Design studio in Naka Meguro. The occasion was the 25th Anniversary of Nike Dunk which was first released in 1985. Originally a straight forward Basketball shoe, the DUNK has gained iconic status and a cult like following amongst street fans. ‘Be True To Your Street’ was the message NIKE was sending out yesterday, the history of of NIKE DUNK’s greeted us at the entrance where inside NIKE had sourced sneakers covering the history of DUNK from collectors throughout Japan, from the original 1985 sneakers to the ultra rare 2004 nike dunk high pro sb from Futura pictured above.
