これまでに見たことのないようなシューズを作り出す日本人デザイナー「NORITAKA TATEHANA（舘鼻 則孝）」。そう … あの高い厚底シューズを履いたレディ・ガガ（Lady Gaga）が遂に転落してしまった。というのも過ぎ去ったことで過去の話。実は、そんな彼の展示会がつい先日まで行われていて、TOKYO DANDY TEAM一目見にいってきました。ガガが惚れるのも分かる気がする。アーティスティックで挑戦的な彼の靴は今のファッション界にとても重要な要素を持っているような気もする。また、一点いってん手作業で作られている彼のコレクションには、沢山の愛情が詰まっている。見よ。
Just before Fuji Rock I dropped by an exhibition presenting the new works of shoe-maker Noritaka Tatehana. The Kanagawa native has become a familiar name of late due to the patronage of one Lady Gaga who has taken a liking to his custom made, hand-crafted pieces. At Tatehanas atelier 3 new designs were presented – the ankle boot with a smaller platform, an almost Romanesque healed shoe, and the huge Lady Violas’. Each featured an embossed print, as did the gold versions of the sky high shoes Lady Gaga fell of at Heathrow airport as well as wearing on the cover of Rolling Stone photographed by Terry Richardson.
Also presented were a pair of the amazingly sculptured front healed platforms that, in September, will become part of the ‘Japan Fashion Now’ exhibition at New Yorks Fashion Institute of Technology. I was particulary taken with a pink pair of shoes, made from polished manta leather, that were actually from his graduate collection.

そして、もう一人の男は、「Joji Kojima（小島 穣二）」だった。彼の作るアクセサリー類も全て手作業で作られていて、同じく、ガガが使用したことでも知られている。今回のコレクションでは、マスク、リング、ヘッドピースと数は少ないものの、とても充実している。また、スカルの（頭蓋骨）のリングはデザイナー本人の型で、3Dスキャンしたものをコンピュータ上で立体的に復元したのではと思われる。
Joji Kojima is also a Kanagawa native and is equally important as a new name in bespoke Japanese fashion design. Inspired by ghosts, his new collection was theatrical, full-face skeleton masks, head pieces which are literally jaw-dropping – the bottom left piece features six skeleton jaws, one which fits under the wearers chin. Delicate rings with skulls made from 3D scans of the designers own head were suspended delicately at least 12 inched away from the finger. A Knuckle duster, a symbol of violence, was brought back to glamor by diamond tips. Each piece is made-to-order.
