マグニチュード9.0を記録する地震が東北地方太平洋沖で発生した2011年3月11日（金）。この地震で、起きてしまった停電や火災、津波などの損害が拡大し、今でも困っている人が沢山います。

震災支援のための食品・物資寄付を受け付けている「セカンドハーベスト・ジャパン」へ、食品・物資の支援に参加することを決めました。
今でも … 自分は何をしたらいいのか …。自分には何ができるのか …。と考えているのならば …。是非、26日に開催するこのイベントに参加してほしい。節電 … 募金 … と最低限のことはしているけども … それ以上のことは何もしていない …。＝ 罪悪感に押しつぶされている人も多いはず …。でも … そういう風に「思い」「感じる」という気持ちが大切なはずです。もちろん、だからといって何もしない訳にはいきません。感じているだけでも駄目だと思います。少しでも自分の中にモヤモヤがあるのならば、是非参加してください。
何をするにも人間の手が必要なのです。日本という国があるのも日本人がこうして助け合って生きているから。苦しんでいる人を助けるのも人間で、建物を再建するのも人間です。
とにかく、3月26日に開催するこのイベントには一人でも多くの人に参加して頂きたいのです。

On Saturday March 26th we are hosting a party at Trump Room Shibuya to benefit those affected by the March 11th Earthquake and Tsunami. Perhaps you, like us, have felt helpless in the past week – wishing we had the wealth and power to assist those that need it. Together we can. Whilst monetary donations are needed, we are aware of the immediate need for food and everyday necessities in the North and that’s where we can help. Second Harvest Japan is an established agency for providing food security for those who need it. In this current crisis they are extending to deliver other daily essentials to those in areas worst hit.
We would like to help Second Harvest Japan because they are already established, they know what they’re doing and they are directly assisting those who need it. They have trucks leaving from Tokyo every other day so whatever we can give will help.
For our event on Saturday 26th March we ask guests to bring 3 items from the list of things the people from Second Harvest Japan have found the people affected to be most in need of. We don’t see this as a charity, it’s simply helping out those with less resources by sharing ours. ‘ONE NIPPON’ is about our community coming together as one to share with others whilst we share a good time together.
Money from drinks bought at the party that night will assist in sending what we gather to the 2nd Harvest Office where myself and Joe will volunteer to help and sort and pack the items ready to send. They are currently asking for things from the list (not clothes nor toys) Really just the basics, feel free to bring more than 3 if you want. By doing this as a group it doesn’t matter how much or what you can share, every one of us can help together. We will ask guests at the party to leave messages that we will upload onto Tokyo Dandy with photos from the event.
A full list of DJs will be out in the next couple of days. We ask all of our friends and people who check Tokyo Dandy to please come together at this time.
Whilst we are optimistic, we must be remain aware of the situation at the Fukushima Power Plant as well as after shocks, we ask everyone to remain vigilant, and in the event anything occurs during the week to check Tokyo Dandy for event information.
