ファッションと音楽といえば切っても切れない関係。「サンローラン」クリエイティブ・ディレクター、エディ・スリマンによるファッションと音楽にフォーカスした「SAINT LAURENT MUSIC PROJECT」。既に公開されている広告キャンペーンには、マリリン・マンソンにコートニー・ラブ、キム・ゴードン、アリエル・ピンクらを起用し話題に。さらに、8年ぶりにニューアルバム「Random Access Memories」をリリース（5月22日）する「ダフト・パンク（Daft Punk）」までも登場。また、スパンコールをあしらった「サンローラン」のスモーキングタキシードを身にまとった2人のフランス人ダンス・ミュージック・ユニット、ファレル・ウィリアムスらにも注目を（ダフト・パンクのミュージック・ビデオで）。
一番下の映像は、2006年に公開されたロボットが主人公の映画「ELECTROMA」。こちらはエディとダフト・パンクの初のコラボレーションで、トーマ＆ギ＝マニュエル（ダフト・パンク）の初映画監督作品でもある。人間になりたいと！願う2体のロボットは、エディがデザインしたディオール・オムのレザーを着用。
Hedi Slimane’s aesthetic has undeniable links to music, his aesthetic galvanized the skinny boy rocker look of the early 00’s and his output since he returned to the helm of Saint Laurent have been steeped in signature 90’s rock motifs. The LA based designer has brought in some legendary musicians to be photographed for the Saint Laurent Music Project. The first round of photos included Courtney Love, Marilyn Manson, Kim Gordon and Ariel Pink. They were joined this week by soe fantastic images of Daft Punk, perfect timing as the French groups new track with Pharrell Williams was previewed over the weekend at Caochella (see the clip here). This isn’t the first time Slimane has worked with Daft Punk, he provided the robotic pairs outfits for their 2006 feature film ‘Electroma’ (see the trailer below).
