現代日本を代表する横尾忠則の期間限定アートショップが、4月27日より伊勢丹新宿店にて開催される。

先日都内の銭湯で見かけたが…今や入手困難でなかなか見かけることのない名作ポスターたち。限定ストアでは、それらの名作ポスターや今回のために制作したインパクトある新作グッズを展開。グラフィックワークだけでなく、コラージュや絵画制作、戦前、戦後のイメージが強い彼の作品だが、今回のために制作された新作も楽しみすぎる。強烈な印象を残す横尾忠則の世界観。

Tadanori Yokoo is one of Japan’s greatest Pop Artists. His propaganda style collage posters are a triumph of Showa era imagery and colour. He even has his own museum, one which I was able to visit last year in his hime town of Kobe (visit the website here for ongoing exhibitions).
Yokoo will be the subject of a pop-up shop at Shinjuku Isetan April 27th – May 8th. The above images display some of the archive images that will be available on limited edition posters and such at the store. It’s been a while, Yokoo needs a large scale retrospective in Tokyo!!!
