週明けに驚くようなコンテンポラリーアートエキシビション “The Art of Dior” が、北京のULLENS CENTREで開催された。このエキシビションは、アートとファッションを混合したものになってる。中国で活躍する現代アーティスト22人らが、クリスチャン・ディオール（Christian Dior）、ジョン・ガリアーノ（John Galliano）、クリス・ヴァン・アッシュ（Kris Van Assche）、ハウス・オブ・ディオールジュエリー（House of Dior Jeweler）などから衝撃を受け絵などを作り上げた作品になってる。アートとファッション両方が展示されている。
ここで紹介されてる作品は写真家、クィンティン・シィー（Quentin Shih）が撮ったもので （ガラスの中にいる見知らぬ人々“Strangers in a Glass Box”） と言った題名になってる。シティーはラグジュアリーなディオールと中国の私生活、風景を描いている。
このエキシビションが東京にくるのを願ってる。コラボレーションなどの作品（シャネルのモバイル・アート・プロジェクトのように）は本当に感激＆感動。ディオール＆コンテンポラリー・チャイニーズ・アートのエキショビションは2008年11月16日～2009年1月15日まで北京のULLENS CENTERで行われている。
Over the weekend an amazing new exhibition opened in the Ullens Centre for Contemporary art in Beijing. Art meets fashion in “The Art of Dior”. Twenty-two of Chinas top contemporary artists have created work inspired by the creations of Christian Dior, John Galliano, Kris Van Assche or the House of Dior Jeweler, Victoire de Castellane. The art and the fashion are exhibited together.
The work shown here is by photographer Quentin Shih. Entitled “Strangers in a Glass Box”, Shih juxtaposes the high fashion of Dior with scenes of everyday Chinese life.
I hope this becomes a traveling exhibition. This type of collaborative effort (like the Chanel Mobile Art Project) is really inspirational. Dior & Contemporary Chinese Artists exhibit at the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing from November 16th-January 15th, 2009.
