2010年7月1日に創刊されたあのファッション誌覚えている？……？忘れる分けないよね。ツイこの間のことなんだから。そう、「The Reality Show」と名付けられた新たなファッション誌がこの世に誕生したのだ。マガジン不況に悩まされるなか、彼らはこの不況だからこそできた新たな”ファッション誌”を経ち上げたのだ。ご存知の方もいるかと思うが、改めて、「The Reality Show」とは、ファンタジックなランウェイファッションに今の東京のリアルライフと、リアルスタイルを日本のストリートファッションスターのようにリンクさせるのだ。
チーフエディターに、ティファニー・グドイ（Tiffany Godoy）を迎え、アートディレクター、米津智之（Tomoyuki Yonezu）と、この2人が少し前から企んでいたプロジェクトなのだ。

1997 年に来日、東京在住。主にstyle.com、V、Self Service、Encens、Spur、Vogue Nipponなどを手がける。クライアントはConde Net US、shu uemura、資生堂、ナイキなど。東京のストリートファッションの歴史を網羅した「Style Deficit Disorder」(Chronicle Books, 2007)や「 Japanese Goth」(Universe, 2009)の著者であり、 WOWOWやNHKワールドでファッション番組のホストも務めた。

前日、6月30日には水曜日にも関わらず、普段パーティーに繰り出さないファッションピープルや、原宿キッズで大盛り上がりだった。DJ陣には、本誌でも登場した、富永愛にMademoiselle Yuliaらが会場を盛り上げていた。早くも第2弾が待ち遠しい。
Editor-in-Chief Tiffany Godoy together with Art-Director Tomoyuki Yonezu launched their new project ‘The Reality Show’ last Thursday in Aoyamas Le Baron de Paris. The crowd in attendance was a Tokyo rarity, a mix of the art and fashion worlds with influential street fashion and runway icons. This represents what ‘The Reality Show’ is all about. The large tome, five mini-magazines wrapped up in one, features supermodel Tominaga Ai, superstar DJ Mademoiselle Yulia, Musician and designer Detto K, Sister’s Fuyuri and the hair styling Nirei twins dressed in their favorite high fashion brands.
The styling and photography puts Japanese fashion on another level, questions the balance between high fashion and street fashion, and offers interviews as well as editorials with those featured. This is a highly styled highly applaudable entrepreneurial endeavour and we can’t wait to see the next issue.
