イギリス・ロンドンをベースに活動する覆面芸術家、バンクシー（Banksy）が、アメリカのFOX TVで1989年より放送開始の「THE SIMPSONS（ザ・シンプソンズ）」の物語に飛び込んできた。ん？… どういうことかと言うと、今年で21年目を迎えた”THE SIMPSONS“の裏側をBANKSYが作り上げてしまったのだ。裏側と言うか、BANKSYが想像する”THE SIMPSONS“の裏事情とでも言おう。工場で絵を描く風景、Tシャツ生産、人間の骨を使って人形を作る姿は中国人にも見える。そして、やらされてる感たっぷりなパンダの表情。イルカの舌をテープ化しスピーディーにこなす流れ作業。ちょっと残酷だが、見方を変えれば天才だ。（子供には影響悪いが。）
British artist BANKSY story boarded and directed the opening sequence of last nights episode of ‘The Simpsons’ in the US. The Simpsons is a 21-year strong pop-cultural phenomenon which one has to remember is owned and shown on the ‘FOX’ network, part of Rupert Murdochs media empire. Kudos to FOX for allowing Banksy to show the ‘dark side’ behind the colorful gloss of Springfield, portraying FOX studios as a communist like regime, a sweat shop type factory in what appears to be CHINA, using the bones of humans to make Simpsons dolls, the head of a dolphin to seal boxes and the horn of a frail unicorn to punch holes in DVDs. The image of America’s favorite family is manufactured in China. It’s genius.
