日本文化からインスピレーションを得て＿男芸者「トム・ブラウン ニューヨーク」2016年春夏コレクションは、「茶室・案山子・障子・畳・浮世絵・富士山・菊の花・芸者・着物」と日本芸術の世界を表現している。障子で仕切られた中央のたたみ部屋、周りを囲む案山子（モデル）たち。白塗り姿で登場したモデルたちの履物は足袋に下駄とまさに昭和の日本。異なるグレー色を基調に刺繍やアップリケ、和柄コラージュにスパンコールなどを施した「日本昔話」的コレクション。
Traditional Japanese clothing is a reoccurring trend and reference point for international brands. Thom Browne took this to a whole other level for his Spring/Summer 2016 show in Paris. Scarecrows in kimonos took turns around the runway before the doors of a tea house opened to reveal black-lipped male geisha. Boys wearing suit jackets and pants followed, jacquard with chrysanthemums, Mount Fuji, and flying birds in varying shades of grey. They walked on traditional geta sandals and tabi socks, subtly branded with Browne’s tri-color tag.
