数年前から言われ続けてきた築地市場の移転問題、2016年11月に豊洲へと移転が決定した。そんな築地市場の1年以上に渡って製作された映画「TSUKIJI WONDERLAND（築地ワンダーランド）」が、10月15日より全国公開される。
古くは江戸時代まで歴史を遡る魚河岸、日本橋から移転し現在に至まで、80年以上もの歴史、日本の台所として私たちの食文化を支え続けてきた築地市場。本編では、米・オバマ大統領やヒュー・ジャックマンなど数々のハリウッドセレブから美食家からも愛される鮨の名店「すきやばし次郎」小野次郎や世界のレストランと評される「ノーマン」レネ・レゼピなど超一流の料理人、有名料理評論家・山本益博が築地とは何かを語り、築地で働く仲卸の人々の仕事への矜持が垣間見られる、世界の魚食文化を支える築地市場が唯一無二の場所であることを感じさせる予告映像となっている。また、キービジュアルは築地に集まる多様な海の幸と、その専門家たる仲卸の人々の写真がふんだんに使い、真ん中に大きく「築地」の文字を置いた、まさに築地市場のワンダーランドに潜入したようなインパクト大のビジュアルとなっている

Tsukiji fish market has been in operation for over 80 years. 2016 will see the closure of the worlds biggest fish market as it moves to a new purpose built facility in Toyosu (several years later than planned due to the toxicity of the land in the new location). A fifth of the worlds seafood produce is said to move through Tsukiji on a daily basis, feeding Japan’s insatiable appetite for seafood. The quality and abundance of this bounty has fallen in recent years with the rise in global popularity of sushi and the decline of the oceans stock. This film, directed by Shotaro Endo, captures not only the inner workings, but also the characters and architecture that make Tsukiji such a unique ‘wonderland’. Showing at international film festivals now before debuting in Tokyo in October 2016.
