アグリー・ベティ（Ugly Betty）はアメリカのトップ・コメディー・テレビ番組。そんな、ベティ・スアレス（Betty Suarez）を中心にストーリーが進められている。誰が… うーーーーん。 ブサイク（Ugly）… とにかく、彼女はこのルックスとスタイルで若くして、自信にあふれていて、知的で勤勉。 一流ファッション誌「モード（MODE）」の編集部で編集長アシスタントを務めることになったヒロインのベティ。Ugly Betty の物語設定は、アン・ハサウェイ＆メリル・ストリープ主演で映画化された小説「プラダを着た悪魔（The Devil Wears Prada）」と似た設定だ。だが、このテレビドラマは、1999〜2001年に南米コロンビアで制作され世界的ヒット・ドラマとなった。「プラダを着た悪魔」と全米公開が偶然にも重なったとか。そして、本名:アメリカ・フェレーラー（America Ferrera）は素晴らしい演技で多くの賞を受賞している。そして、更にセレブ感たっぷりのゲスト出演、ヴィクトリア・ベッカム（Victoria Beckham）ナオミ・キャンベル（Naomi Campbell）リンジー・ローハン（Lindsay Lohan）

Ugly Betty is a top American comedy TV show. It show revolves around Betty, who is, erm, ugly. Anyway, she gets a job at top fashion magazine “MODE” where, despite her looks and lack of style, her intelligence and kind heart help her to exceed. It’s kind of like a funnier version of The Devil Wears Prada (if the main girl didn’t lose weight and get a make over). The main Star of the show, America Ferrera has won many awards in the US for her great performance as Betty and in later episodes you can look forward to cameo appearances by Victoria Beckham, Naomi Campbell and Lindsay Lohan.
Ugly Betty will be released in Japan on DVD September 3nd. It’s beautiful. Check out the preview below.
