そう、厳しい経済状況のファッション業界を支援すべく、NY、パリ、ミラノ、ロンドンをはじめ、世界16ヵ国で一斉に開催された「VOGUE FASHION NIGHT OUT（ファッション・ナイト・アウト）」が、先日（2010年9月11日）開催されたのだった。去年からスタートした一夜限りのこのプロジェクトは、「US VOGUE」編集長アナ・ウィンター（Anna Wintour）の一言によって始まったのは皆ご存知なはず。そんな「FNO」東京では、表参道ヒルズをメインに350店舗を超えるショップが各イベントを開催していた。メインの表参道ヒルズでは、アーティストによDJサバキ、トークショー、ダンスパフォーマンス、ファッション界で活躍するモデルズたちによるウォーキング。そんな中、我々TOKYODANDY TEAMは、表参道骨董通り入り口角に在るマックスマーラ（MAXMARA）でフォトセッションをやらせていただいたのだ。エントランス付近ではガールズモデル（Sonoya, Michi, Carolina）より赤のバラが配られ、シャンパンと共に一夜限りのナイト・ショッピングを楽しむ「MAXMARA族」で大盛況。
そうこうしているうちに、モデル、DJとして引っ張りだこのエリ・ローズ（Elli-Rose）がやってきた。そう、彼女のDJサバキが行われていたのだ。それまでは、メローな感じで揺れていたピープルも、彼女がDJブースに入り得意のハウスを流すと自然とカラダが動き出し、会場はダンスフロアへと変わっていたのだ。そして、「VOGUE NIPPON」編集長渡辺三津子（Mitsuko Watanabe）との集合写真など。そう、集合写真を見てみると、この間ベネチア国際映画祭より戻ったばかりの水原希子も会場にいたのだ。まだまだ … 日本を代表するモデル富永愛（Ai Tominaga）の登場で ……。去年も沢山のショップを梯子しフォトグラファーのレスリ・キー（LEsLiE kEE）がパシャパシャとシャッターをキリ下ろしていたのを覚えている。更に … あのスーパーカリスマダンサー、ジョンテ★モーニング（JONTE’★Moaning）…。見よ誰よりも目立つ彼のアウトフィット。
という感じで9月11日のMAXMARAは大成功を得ました。MAXMARAに限らず350店舗を超えるショップ全てが「大成功」「大盛況」というかたちで幕を閉じたのではないでしょうか。アナ・ウィンターが考えたこの企画。最高のプロジェクトだと思います。ファッション業界を支援すべく、もっと盛り上げるために沢山の人々が一つとなった一夜なのではないでしょうか。また、来年も宜しくお願い致します。
MaxMara is not a brand you would usually associate with Tokyo Dandy. But a party is, and that’s what Vogue’s Fashion Night out is all about. The global drive, started by Anna Wintour, is aimed at getting customers back into stores after the shitty economy we’ve had. Let’s be honest a lot of people who work in big brand stores here in Tokyo are robotic to say the least, so imagine arriving at a store to be given champagne and roses by models Carolina, Sonoya and Michi? (pictured top), it’s a step up from the usual shopping experience. Add to that myself high on life and champagne taking the above photos as well as polaroids as gifts for the guests, Joe and kiko Mizuhara (just back from the Venice Film Festival) were hanging out with Yuya Nara and Sachiko from SHIMA who had done the girls hair and make-up, and Elli-Rose providing the music for the night and we were on our way to a decent party. Vogue Nippon editor Mitsuko Watanabe dropped by (pictured holding a rose and between Elli-Rose and Kiko above), followed shortly after by Supermodel Tominaga Ai who tried on the camel coat from the MaxMara ‘ICON’ Collection (pictured above). Lots of our friends came and went throughout the evening, JONT’E brought his usually sparkle, and Erika Sawajiri put in an appearance, no photos allowed but that’s OK (I mean, she was wearing a pink hat and pink fingerless gloves….)
It was a great evening, and just proves what I realized a while ago from going to so many parties, it doesn’t matter the brand or the budget, it’s all about the people. We may not be A-list, but we’re nice, and we know how to have a good time. Thanks so much to everyone who stopped by! Next year it would be cool to do a party at a mens brand….
