10周年を迎えた山本耀司（Youji Yamamoto）＆「アディダス（adidas）」による「Y-3」の2011/12年秋冬コレクションが2月13日「82 Mercer Street」にて発表された。会場には、多くのアジア人メディアが訪れていたほか、11歳で自身のブログをスタートしたTAVIの姿までも。「Y-3」といえば、スポーツライクなクリエーションで知られているが、今回のコレクションでは、ヨウジヤマモトらしい色が存分に出ていた気がする。細かいディテールに、切りっぱなしの変形ジャケット。なかでも目を引いたのは、ギャザーの効いたスカート型パンツに沢山のピースに使用されていたステッチ使い。異なったチェックにも注目を。ショー終了後のバックステージでは、沢山のメディア陣に囲まれインタビューを受けていた。

Yohji Yamamoto’s collaborative relationship with Adidas celebrated its 10 year anniversary this year and for the Fall/Winter show at 82 Mercer Street yesterday the occasion was marked by the most ‘Yohji’ of Y-3 of collections so far. A triumph in ‘high fashion sportswear’, the show was all about “escape’, whether on horse back or foot, with bags sneakers and clothes fit for the journey. Familiar Yohji Yamamoto trademarks such as drop crotch and wide legged pants, unfinished fabrics and structured silhouettes met season trends such as red and more modern fabrics to Yamamoto’s own line. More Street Couture than sportswear, there were so many covetable pieces, including alternatives to over the shoulder bags which involved bag being attached to clothes and draping down backs, and a splash of red brightening things up. Yamamoto-san gave a few interviews backstage before heading back to the Soho Grand Hotel where like us, he was staying. Looking forward to seeing the pieces up close.
