次世代の若きアーティスト「笹田靖人」の絵画を取り入れた「ヨウジヤマモト（YOHJI YAMAMOTO）」の2014/15年秋冬コレクションが発表された。80年代に飛び交った「広島シック」という言葉をご存知だろうか。服飾の既成概念をことごとく打ち崩したアヴァンギャルドで斬新な表現方法。いまや、それが当たり前となり驚くものも減りつつある2014年。個人的には新たな姿勢に驚いたと同時に一つひとつのピースに目を通したくなった。カラフルな花にスカル、蛇にヨウジヤマモトのサイボーグ（顔）と繊細な笹田氏のタッチ。スタイリングで目を引いたのは、アシメトリーの迷彩シャツに中盤で登場したスカルと花柄のセットアップ、柄と柄との組み合わせ。昨年「コム・デ・ギャルソン」青山店で大々的にディスプレイされていた「大友克洋」とのコラボ展示（こちら）。メッセージ性の高いファッションとアートのコラボレーション。ウィメンズでは、メンズ同様アーティスト笹田靖人氏によるモチーフと、布団を肩から掛けた様なコート、終盤お腹の中の赤ちゃん、黒い浮遊物に目とカラフルな色彩が目に飛び込んできた。
The opening looks of Yohji Yamamoto’s Fall 2014 Collection in Paris typified the dystopian goth aesthetic that earned the rather un-PC ‘Hiroshima Chic’ tag back in the 80’s. For Fall/Winter 2014-’15 however brightly colored graphics printed on silks and painted on leather gave Yamamoto’s familiar silhouettes a youthful manga-meets-graffiti view of the future. This was the product of Yamamoto’s continued collaboration with artist Yasuto Sasada, the first pieces of which appeared in the mens show back in January. These graphics consider Yohji himself with disintegrating cyborg faces and rose wearing skulls in the Designers image. The illustrations were somewhat reminiscent of the Katushiro Otomo work featured outside of Comme Des Garcons Aoyama last year (photos here), albeit a lot darker, Sasada’s work ‘takes ancient beliefs and mythology that have created a solid base for cultural development and retell its glory into a more contemporary and youthful language.’. Yohji Yamamoto’s continued collaboration with fellow Japanese artists here with Yasuto Sasada produce something that perfectly marries the established look of Japanese couture in Paris with the youthful style of Japanese Art in Popular Culture.
