3月21日 … 秩父宮ラグビー場で発表された「ヨシオクボ（yoshio kubo）」の2012/13年秋冬コレクション。DJ KRUSHによる繊細で攻撃的なサウンドが会場中を熱気付ける。音と共に登場したファースルックは、白シャツ（ダイヤ柄）の上に白のダウンベストを羽織り、細身のスラックスの上からセットアップのショーツを合わせたレイヤードなスタイリング。真っ白のランウェイはなんと50メートル。少し長めだがが、モデルたちはヨシオクボにあったアティチュードを醸し出していた。どこかミリタリー調の雰囲気に得意のグラフィックが散りばめられた渡り鳥。迷彩柄とヒョウ柄をミックスしたグラフィックにも気づいたかな？終盤は赤と白のグラフィカルなラインが目立っていたと同時に、レイヤードや異なる素材同士のコントラストにも目がいってしまった。
Yoshio Kubo has always been one of the more masculine collections to show during Japan Fashion Week, usually an aggressive soundtrack paves the way for the bigger often bearded guys in town to stride down the 50m runway under the stands of Chichibunomiya Rugby Stadium. Fall WInter’s outing used a smaller framed model than usual, but Kubo’s love of graphic patterning was present across jackets, pants and hoodies. If Japanese brands excel at producing street-couture then Yoshio Kubo produces it for the guy that likes top go a bit further than the street, more of a rough and ready out-doors guy who still cares about how he looks. This theme was present in monochrome prints of forests in which blue or red birds added added an accent.
