2008年にインタビューをさせて頂いた（HERE）ファッション・デザイナー、久保嘉男氏による「yoshio kubo（ヨシオクボ）」の2011/12年秋冬コレクション。東日本大震災の影響で東京中のコレクションがキャンセルとなり、なんとか展示会シーズがンやってきた今日この頃。「NORTH WESTERN STORY」をテーマに旅する男たちの登場。アラスカという場所で生きることを学んだ一人の青年 …。そう … 映画「Into The Wild」がインスピレーション源とか。アラスカという場所でも寒さに負けじと、凍えることなく暮らしていけそうなウォーミーなアウターたち。さらに、ポンチョ、グラフィックT、プリーツ、ツイードと盛り沢山2011/12年秋冬コレクション。上品な素材感にも注目を。
Japanese Menswear Designer Yoshio Kubo is in an adventurous mood for Fall/Winter 2011-12. ‘North Western Story’ takes it’s inspiration from ‘Into The Wild’, the book and biopic detailing Christopher McCandless’ trek into Alaska. This is a lesson in how warmth and comfort does not mean one has to forgo style, or indeed color. Stripes and zig-zag patterns across ponchos in contrasting fabrics often combined to give the appearance of shorts over pants in one piece. There was so much to be found in the details, a really inspired collection which covered everything from the basic need of Winter warmth in rich wools to embroidered stars from the open night sky on shirts more suitable for evening wear.
